Job Ghosting

Job Ghosting in human resources (HR) is when an employer or a job candidate just decided to cease all communications with the other party without shedding light on the reason behind it. It may happen in any of the stages of hiring, e.g., after sending an offer letter, or even after the candidate has started working in the company.

Examples of Job Ghosting

Example 1: After two rounds of interviews and a verbal offer, the candidate ghosted and never signed the contract.

Example 2: Many candidates complain about being ghosted by recruiters after submitting applications, which harms the company’s reputation.

Example 3: Recruiter ghosting can erode trust, making it harder to engage top talent in the future.
